Fort Smith, Ark. – Keep Fort Smith Beautiful is set to host the Spring 2022 Great Arkansas Cleanup on Saturday, April 23rd at the Farmers Market Parking Lot in the Historic Downtown Fort Smith. The Great Arkansas Cleanup is a state-wide initiative promoted by Keep Arkansas Beautiful in efforts to sponsor a cleanup in every county in the State of Arkansas. The main goal is keeping Arkansas clean, green and beautiful.

The event begins at 9 AM, when all volunteers will be able to stop by, check in on behalf of their respective organizations, pick up the cleaning supplies provided by Keep Arkansas Beautiful, and proceed to pick up litter in any area of Fort Smith in need. As the City of Fort Smith will provide the trash dumpster, participants are asked to bring back the litter they collect by 12 PM.

Additionally, for the first time, Keep Fort Smith Beautiful Great Arkansas Cleanup will be included as an option for the April 21st United Way Day of Caring event.  On that day, employees can choose to help pick up litter as one of their possible projects. Keep Fort Smith Beautiful (KFSB) is now accepting bids for Lawn and Landscape Maintenance Services for five areas. Bids are accepted until 2:00 PM (CST) on April 4, 2022.

Spring 2021 Great Arkansas Cleanup

Keep Fort Smith Beautiful is hosting another Great Arkansas Cleanup, on April 24 on the corner of North 2nd and North A in historic Downtown Fort Smith (across the street from the Farmers Market) starting at 9 AM. All cleaning supplies will be provided by Keep Arkansas Beautiful. Volunteers can show up any time between 9 AM and 12 PM, sign in, grab their supplies, and be on their way to do some good for the community. The volunteers can either come with a cleanup area in mind, or they will be supplied one by the Keep Fort Smith Beautiful representatives. All volunteers are encouraged to bring the collected litter back on site where they can discard it in a dumpster provided by the City of Fort Smith.

All volunteers will be required to follow the Arkansas Department of Health COVID19 Guidelines during the event!
